Colin & Paul will discuss their current focus of looking at new 'Lean' and innovative methods of operation. By developing their processes in line with Lean principles benefits have been gained by JMA, stakeholders and partners in the construction process. Central to the developments so far has been the adoption of improved data handling methods, utilization of database functionality and the adoption of BIM. The improvements adopted at JMA and the methods used to analysis and substantiate the changes that have taken place will be presented.

The futures of Construction IT was explored by Carl and Bilge in respect of the driving forces of change and main trends, issues, factors and actors and in relation to society, technology, environment, economy and politics. This was presented through four scenarios that were developed using 'economic model' and 'environment and resource management' as scenario axes.

Byrne Group plc is one of the UK's fastest growing construction companies and one of the first in the industry to establish a consolidation centre. The seven-acre facility in London serves as a hub to provide plant, materials, warehouse and distribution facilities to most of its construction sites. Matthew discussed the introduction of a new web-based asset management technology linked to RFID tagging to support these processes.
