this session Ian combined a demonstration of the BCIS Online service together
with observations on the technological path taken. Since the launch in April
2000 of an Internet version of the long-standing BCIS Online service it
has become even easier to access and apply BCIS information. Development
has continued over the first 18 months, which extend the scope of the service
and offer greater integration with other applications.

project team presented the EU funded research project, eLEGAL, whose goal
is to define a framework for legal conditions and contracts regarding
the use of ICT in project business. The expected key results from this
project are:
- User requirements for legal support in construction projects.
- Library of re-usable clauses and model contracts.
- Contract configuration and negotiation tools.
- Simulated contract negotiation game.
- Recommendations to standardisation.

of the UK Construction Industry against EU. He addressed insurance as well
as supply chain issues. Finally John discussed FIEC’s efforts in promoting
